Located on the Northeastern part of the country of France and bordering the country of Belgium, the region of Champagne-Ardenne is one of the most beautiful twenty-six regions in the country. The region has a total land area of about 25,606 square kilometers and is home to approximately 1.3 million inhabitants.

Just like the region of Burgundy, the region of Champagne-Ardenne is also known for its fine white wine. To be more specific, the region is the place where that all-popular celebratory drink, champagne, is produced. It is no wonder, then, that champagne is one of the prized commodities exported by the region, with an annual sale of approximately 263 million bottles. A total land area of 282.37 square kilometers is comprised of vineyards. There are a number of these vineyards that are open to the public where tourists can sample some of the prized sparkling wine of the region and even get to purchase a bottle or two.
