Overview

Northern Ireland is separated from the mainland England and is an island lying west to it. Northern Ireland has a panorama that consists of heaving pastures and low coastal mountains. The weather in this region is perfect for vacations in summer. The temperature is above the freezing point most of the time. Thus snow and ice are a part of the climate scenario. Rainfall is quite tricky and one can expect it at any time of the year. But summertime has lots of sunshine.

There are a plethora of attractions that are worth discovering in Northern Ireland – museums, parks, castles, monuments, monasteries and pristine beaches are just some of them. One of the major attractions is the Walled City of Derry. Located on the steep hills that overlook the River Foyle, this city has beautiful buildings within the famous walls. 17th March is celebrated as Saint Patrick’s Day and Belfast city Centre turns into a riot of colors as the celebration is marked by millions of people. Yet another beautiful attraction that cannot be missed is the Giant Causeway and Coastal Route. A legend says that the Causeway was an aftermath of the Battle of the Giants.

Some of the other highlights of Northern Ireland include Hillsborough Castle and Gardens, Belfast Castle, Mountsandel Fort, White Island Lough Erne, Dunluce Castle, Tower Museum, Ulster Folk and Transport Museum and Harbor Museum.

The coastline of Northern Ireland consists of some of the most magnificent beaches in the entire Europe. The golden sand and the pebbled shores are simply stunning.

Northern Ireland has three airports where low cost flights operate on daily basis. It is connected to England and Scotland via ferries.
