Edit [ Edit ]

Introduction

The Bonaventure Island is a small and roundly shaped island that is located at the end of the Gaspésie peninsula of the province of Quebec and very close to the Rocher Percé (or Pierced Rock).

The island is well known to host an impressive, and largest in the world, colony of Northern Gannets birds during the summer months. It is also a sanctuary for many other bird species. Apart from a historically preserved farm house and a few walking trails, the Island offers a fully natural landscape. It can be visited and accessed through boat tours from Percé.
